Julie Moran, LMT, graduated June 14, 2015 with an Associate of Occupational Science Integrative Massage and Wellness from WellSpring School of Allied Health in Kansas City, MO. This excellent knowledge base along with her cherished sense of purpose and a passion to help people have been the foundation for her work in massage therapy.
Julie's heart for service started at an early age and was reinforced during six years of active service in the United States Air Force. This service mindset led her to the field of massage therapy, where she could help people along their path to better health. An others-first attitude and the simple act of well-trained, compassionate touch creates space for people to release worries and tensions that lead to diminished health and illness.
Julie believes giving intentional massage facilitates the healing process through individualized sessions that focus on each person’s unique needs. Each body is sacred and deserves to be in the best health possible. Massage is an integral part of the whole-health spectrum. Regular massage assists in connecting body, mind, and spirit to keep a balance of health. The goal of massage therapy is to allow each person to heal in a way that best fits him or her.
Julie practices integrative massage, using multiple techniques during a session. She is a certified Myofascial Release therapist through the John Barnes Institute and feels drawn to MFR as the most effective therapy for anyone who has experienced physical or emotional trauma. Julie uses MFR while working with individuals undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers to help relieve the pain, fatigue and anxiety people experience during the rigorous process. Having several loved ones who have experienced chronic illness, Julie sees the importance of providing comfort through therapeutic touch.
To compliment the benefits of massage, Julie received certification June 30, 2015 as a Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her understanding of kinetic anatomy of the human body and applied techniques to free muscles from unnecessary tension allows clients to find renewed strength in balance. Relieving stiffness and improving muscle tone work in tandem to correct posture, which leads to improved health and better quality of life.
In her free time, Julie enjoys traveling with her husband, cuddling with her cats, yoga, hiking, bike riding, and sipping red wine. She also likes group fitness classes at the YMCA, reading a variety of books and periodicals, and making happy memories with friends and family.
